The Autumnal Equinox is the 16th of China’s 24 Solar Terms. It usually falls between September 22 and 24. On this day, the sun shines directly on the equator, so day and night are equally long. It marks the midpoint of autumn. After the equinox, days get shorter and nights longer in the Northern Hemisphere, and the temperature gradually drops. It is also China’s Farmers’ Harvest Festival.
